"The moment you come to trust chaos, you see God clearly. Chaos is divine order, versus human order. Change is divine order, versus human order. When the chaos becomes safety to you, then you know you're seeing God clearly."

Alma Allen
I first saw Alma Allen's work around 10 years ago on Abbot-Kinney. I had always meant to scrape enough together to purchase something, anything by him, but didn't get to it.
Recently, he made the door hardware for the Ace Hotel & Swim Club in Palm Springs. At least I got to caress them every day that I was there.
Local togs
I am continually amazed at our shopping options here in Portland. For a logging town, it's incredibly stylish, more so than many places I've lived.

Bitters Co
This is a great store that I visit whenever I got to Seattle. The two sisters who run the place stock it with lovely things from all over.

Partners & Spade
This store has a great concept - work studio during the week, shop on the weekends, and inventory based on self-curated collections. That is my long-term plan as well.

They make very whimsical things, but that's not a deterrent for once.
